Both of our clinicians see Arizona clients, which brings psychological services and professional counseling together under one roof.

How we work with Arizona clients
Because we are local, care in Arizona can follow your life: an office visit for a psychological evaluation or a young child, video on the weeks when the drive is too much, and a mix of both over the course of treatment. Our work is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), at a steady pace, never rushed through a set number of sessions; we do not offer a quick fix. Together we write a plan you can see, and revise it as life changes. When a concern calls for a medical specialist, a local prescriber, or a school team, we will tell you clearly and help you get the support you need.

Dr. Lusk is licensed to practice psychology in Arizona by the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners, license no. PSY-003232, and practices under NPI 1295925386. Care here rests on that state license rather than on an interstate agreement. Arizona care is hybrid: in person at the Flagstaff office, virtual, or a combination of both, whichever suits the work.
Dr. Lusk is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has spent more than twenty-five years helping individuals, couples, and families through difficult chapters, and the State of Arizona has qualified her as an expert witness. She earned her A.B. at Smith College and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology–San Diego, an APA-accredited program. Alongside therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups, she provides forensic, educational, employment screening, and neuropsychological evaluations.

Alethea Braun-Dunagan, M.A.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Ms. Braun-Dunagan provides counseling to clients located in Arizona through the Counseling Compact™, and has availability for Medicare and TriCare clients.
Ms. Braun-Dunagan is a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings warmth and a holistic, individualized approach to individual, couples, and family counseling and to groups. She draws on Cognitive Behavioral techniques chosen for each person, with deep experience across childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Her particular interests include women's issues, postpartum mood concerns, stress management, relapse prevention for addictions, and culturally responsive care.

Licensing for Arizona appointments
Arizona is where both clinicians are licensed, so no interstate arrangement is required for care delivered here. Dr. Lusk practices as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Ms. Braun-Dunagan as a Licensed Professional Counselor, each under an Arizona license, whether the appointment happens at the Flagstaff office or over a secure video link. Arizona also participates in PSYPACT®, which is how Dr. Lusk serves clients in other participating jurisdictions from this office.
The location rule still applies, in the ordinary direction. An Arizona resident who is elsewhere on a session date — a student home for the term, someone wintering in another state — should tell us, because the question becomes whether that other jurisdiction is covered, and the commission publishes which ones are. In-person visits are arranged the same way as any other appointment, by telephone with our office.

Our office sits in a university town, and we have worked for years with students, faculty, and staff at Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, and Arizona State University, as well as private institutions including Grand Canyon University, Prescott College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott), Arizona Christian University, and Midwestern University. Care continues over breaks so long as the client stays in a covered jurisdiction.
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott is one we have particular experience with, students, faculty and staff alike. Being in state, the hybrid option applies there as it does anywhere else in Arizona.

Common questions about therapy in Arizona
Can I be seen in person rather than online?
Yes. The office is at 710 N Beaver Street, BLDG 4, in Flagstaff, and in-person appointments are available there to Arizona clients. Many people mix the two, coming in when it suits them and meeting on video during bad weather or a crowded week. Ask our office what each clinician's in-office schedule looks like.
Which clinician should I ask for?
Either is a reasonable starting point, and intake will help you choose. Dr. Lusk is a psychologist and the person to see for psychological evaluations and testing. Ms. Braun-Dunagan is a Licensed Professional Counselor with real depth in work with children and youth, and she is our intake specialist, so she often hears the first description of a problem.
Do you see couples and whole families?
Both clinicians do. A session may include two partners, a parent and a child, or several household members, and alternating between joint meetings and individual ones is common. The aim is a shared account of the difficulty rather than a verdict about who caused it.
Can sessions be conducted in Spanish?
Dr. Lusk is bilingual in English and Spanish, so Spanish-speaking clients in Arizona can have their appointments in Spanish, intake and evaluation feedback included. Family sessions sometimes run in both languages when the generations are not equally comfortable in one of them. Mention your preference when you telephone, and intake will schedule accordingly.
What will an Arizona appointment cost?
Our rates are sent in a fee agreement when you schedule an appointment. Our office goes over any out-of-network questions with new clients ahead of a first appointment, so please ring (928) 774-7997 or write to info@psychotherapy.com. Staff can also explain how records and documentation work when an evaluation is part of the plan. Your clinician will not raise the subject during an appointment.
