Request an appointment with Ms. Braun-DunaganAlethea Braun-Dunagan is a licensed professional counselor who provides individual, couples, and family counseling, along with group support. Her work joins a holistic view of the person to carefully chosen Cognitive Behavioral techniques, so that counseling stays both compassionate and practical.
Rather than fit every client to the same treatment plan, she shapes the work around age, circumstances, goals, culture, relationships, and readiness for change.
Her experience spans children, adolescents, and adults, which makes her useful to families whose concerns shift as the years pass.
Ms. Braun-Dunagan holds a master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, both from Northern Arizona University, in the same Flagstaff community where she practises today.
She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Beyond Arizona, her practice rests on the Counseling Compact™, which lets a counselor licensed in one member state serve clients located in others.
She sees clients in person in Flagstaff, Arizona, and by telehealth for clients located in Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Ohio. She also has availability for Medicare and TriCare clients, which is worth asking about early, since it is not true of every clinician in the practice.
As with any compact, what governs an appointment is the state you are physically located in when it happens, and the member list can change. CompactConnect publishes the current participating states.
Her professional interests cover the range of transitions and relationships that bear on emotional health. Care is tailored to the person rather than reduced to a checklist.
Personal, relational, and life-stage concerns, in a setting built around respect and goals you set.
Support through the emotional, relational, and practical changes that can follow pregnancy and childbirth.
Name the pressures shaping daily life, and practise the boundaries and decisions that steady it.
Insight, accountability, and coping tools that protect the progress recovery has already cost you.
Work through the effects of difficult experiences while building safer patterns of trust and communication.
Discuss your experience in the context of your culture, identity, family, and community, not apart from it.
A holistic approach recognises that emotional well-being is tied up with relationships, health, school, work, family expectations, and personal values. Counseling can make room for all of that and still aim at specific, achievable change.
For children and young people, the work may include advocacy, trauma support, and repairing family relationships. For adults and couples, it more often turns on communication, stress, transitions, recovery, or the pattern that keeps a relationship stuck.
Young clients are seen with a parent involved, at a pace and in language that suits their development. Couples are seen jointly, and families can be seen together in a single session.
Full biographies, training, and areas of expertise for every clinician are listed on our providers page, and you are welcome to ask her directly about her qualifications and experience.

Through the Counseling Compact™, which covers clients located in Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, and Ohio. Authorization follows your physical location at the time of the appointment.
She has availability for Medicare and TriCare clients. Confirm current availability with the office before scheduling, because it varies by clinician.
We accept all major credit and debit cards, and we gladly accept HSA, FSA, and HRA cards so you can put pre-tax dollars toward your care. The practice generally operates out-of-network, which protects your privacy and avoids insurance-mandated session limits; Ms. Braun-Dunagan is the exception worth asking about, since she has availability for Medicare and TriCare clients.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we will submit claims to your insurance company as a courtesy on request. Because plans differ, we confirm current fees and what your coverage allows before your first appointment. Call (844) 774-7997 or email info@psychotherapy.com and we will walk you through it.
Our services are by appointment only, during normal business hours. Evening, weekend, and early morning appointments are sometimes available for established clients.
We do not offer crisis, walk-in, or inpatient services of any type, and this page is not a substitute for emergency care.
This page provides general information about telehealth psychotherapy and psychological services. It is not medical or psychological advice, does not create a clinician–client relationship, and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Whether a particular service is appropriate for you is determined with a clinician during a confidential consultation. Telehealth authorization depends on your physical location at the time of each appointment; participating jurisdictions are published at psypact.gov and, for counseling, at CompactConnect.
